R449A refrigerant gas (Opteon™ XP40), an HFO-based mixture available in various cylinder sizes, has a GWP of 1397. It is one of the reference solutions for retrofitting in commercial refrigeration (supermarkets, refrigerated warehouses) to replace R404A and R507. It guarantees performance equivalent to legacy gases with reduced energy consumption. However, as it has an intermediate GWP, it is not exempt from the new F-Gas taxation: it will undergo a tangible price adjustment, making early purchase planning strategic.
