The Nitrogen-Hydrogen (N2-H2) mixture leak detection system is today’s highest standard for refrigeration system maintenance. While pure nitrogen is used to test mechanical tightness, the addition of 5 % Hydrogen allows the use of specific electronic leak detectors to find infinitesimal leaks (less than 5g/year).

How the test works:

The technician pressurizes the system to the correct operating pressure (based on the original refrigerant gas). The built-in pressure gauge allows for an initial visual check of tightness, while passing the leak detector over the joints, evaporators, and condensers ensures immediate identification of the critical point.
