“The refrigerant gas R449A (Opteon™ XP40), an HFO-based blend available in cylinders of various sizes, has a GWP of 1397. It is one of the reference solutions for retrofit in commercial refrigeration (supermarkets, refrigerated warehouses) to replace R404A and R507. It guarantees performance equivalent to older gases with reduced energy consumption. However, having an intermediate GWP, it is not exempt from the new F-Gas taxation: it will undergo a tangible price adjustment, making early purchase planning strategic.”
